Account and sign-in

Your account is your sign-in; workspaces are what you belong to. This page covers both.

Create an account

Go to app.pepochat.com/sign-up and enter your name, email and a password of at least 8 characters, or use Continue with Google. With email sign-up we send a message titled "Verify your PepoChat email address"; clicking the link activates the account and signs you in. Until then, signing in shows "Your email isn't verified yet" and sends a fresh link.

Email addresses that are variations of an existing account (for example a Gmail address with a +tag) are treated as the same account.

Create or choose a workspace

After your first sign-in you name your workspace: the organization that holds your team, knowledge base, conversations and widget. If you were invited to an existing workspace, the invitation appears here too and you can accept it instead of creating a new one. With a single workspace you are taken straight in; signing in later reopens the workspace you used last.

Sign in

Email and password, or Google. Some sign-in forms show a brief security check before the button becomes active; if it fails to load, refresh the page. If you have turned on two-factor authentication, both ways of signing in continue on a page that asks for the six-digit code from your authenticator app.

Forgot your password

Click Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter your email. If an account exists we send a reset link that expires after one hour. Set a new password of at least 8 characters. Accounts created with Google have no password.

Profile

Open Profile from the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar to change your display name or your password. Changing your password signs out your other sessions. Your email cannot be changed here; contact support if you need that.

Your display name is what visitors see above your replies in the widget, so use a real name. Two more cards live on the same page:

• Two-factor authentication: turn a second sign-in factor on or off. See Two-factor authentication.
• Notifications: the switch Email me when a visitor needs a person controls whether you receive the escalation emails described in Human handoff. It is on for every member until they turn it off.
